STi gearing are not for drag racing, even bone stock power, you will have to shift in 5th gear just to finish the 1/4mile because of very short gear ratio, which = alot of potential driver error
over all STi are not very user friendly cars, but if built/set up right driven by a real good driver, it can do some damage

Had the OP said 2013 WRX, I would say it would be a great run (again, pending the buddies shifting capabilities).
