Default 5.0 (Axle back only) vs Camaro SS (Full Bolt ons)

The dialogue at the end is the best part.

I don't have any details about mods.

Says full bolt ons he should of pulled a stock 5.0. Then again the 5.0 could of been tuned. And they are just saying stock to make the 5.0 look good lol

Doesn't matter... 5.0 > 5th Gen.

I would agree with this most of the time. But a full bolt on ls3 against a stock 5.0. Should of pulled a few cars on him. Then again stock 5.0s are pulling on CTS-V's and ZL1's these days lmao

True.. full bolt on SHOULD have done better provided the 5.0 was really stock. He could have a tune on there too.

Dude driving the Camaro sounded very bro-ish. Lmao "That's a ******* stock 5.ooooooooohhhhhhhhhh".

5.0 got a lil jump, but I think the Camaro still should have won. We need to give people lessons on how to mod properly lol. Axle back doesn't give any performance gains really so if that car is truly stock it runs well.

id call shenanigans on this. But... its very easy for clueless people to throw a bunch of mods at a car and it under perform. And after seeing how my buddies catback only base model ran (12.4 at 116.XX wheel hopping), I can definitely believe the results.

True but idk if this a L99 or LS3. And who knows if the 5.0 is axle back only?

No one knows. This was posted on facebook. And it honestly sounds like my buddies car the way it runs. That 116mph car just picked up 20whp/30wtq from a canned tune. And there is virtually no way of knowing if the car is tuned.

Mod for mod a 5th gen will not compete with a 5.0. It is a 3700lb pig.. 5.0 is lighter.

I wouldn't say that. It can compete with the right issues addressed. There are other ways the 5.0 will not compete with the Camaro. It's a pick your poison kind of thing.

This.....but what you have to consider BJ is they will always want to compare the basic 5.0 to the loaded Camaro. The only performance section the 5.0 can win then is a drag race......but that is all they care about.

I know lol. The guy that driving the mustang is same guy that ran the 427 camaro in the other thread he is a driver mod so they call him and all these 5.0 guys have him drive the car just to see what it's capable of. This camaro though does run like ****.

I've seen stock Vs run anywhere from 12.2-12.3@117-119 in a 4100-4200lb car.

Granted the new 5.0s run strong, I've yet to see one perform that well at our local strip.

Anything can happen on the street though!

Like I said... we dont know enough about any of these cars to say what runs bad and what runs good. Honestly... it takes a solid 120mph car to take down my buddies tune/catback base model car. If this fifth gen does say 115mph... and that 5.0 runs as good as my buddies.... this is easily understandable.

As far as the fifth gen... my first mod wouldnt be making more hp. From the clutch assembly back is where I would start.
