Porsche Carrera vs '99 'Maro
I hadn't raced a Carrera in any vehicle, so I wasn't sure what to expect and I would love to own one. My new Spec Stage 2 clutch is still in the break in period, so I've been driving the car mostly everyday to get it broken in.
So, I had gone down to get some groceries and beer in the Camaro and on the way back - at the light to turn left onto the highway I pulled up next to this guy in a silver Porsche Carrera. Kind of looked like the tool you'd expect to see and I figured he would try to run my car. We pull onto the highway with too much traffic around to get a run in, but you can always tell the way someone keeps accelerating quickly if they're wanting to race. I finally get a big enough opening to get into the left lane and come up next to him.
He looks over and I downshift into third at about 60 and wait for him to smash it. As soon as I see him start to pull, I ease into the throttle and pull a car on him. There was traffic ahead, so we had to stop short. He cut in behind me and we got another break in traffic, so I hit 4th gear this time and started to pull on him again. I wish we would have had more room to really run, but it was pretty obvious which car was faster.
Anybody else run any Porsches in their F-body?
