what happened here?
i beat an m6 in my GTO. i mean torched it! lol.
as im leaving from working out i see construction going on up ahead. a sign indicates that the left lane is closing so i get over to the right so i can get ahead of everyone before traffic merges into one lane.
as the light turns green i take off and i notice a car trying to keep up. there wasnt enough room for him to get ahead of me so he was just pacing me.
as we clear the construction zone two lanes open up so the m6 rushes to get into the left lane. the light up ahead was red so im thinking we'll get to line up and go from a stop.
the light turns green and i get a good launch. i slipped my clutch just enough to get a slight wheel spin and get my car going.
i assume this driver was either over confident or not prepared because i was way out in front.
he was still trying to keep up so i wind the shift out of third gear and watched that m6 start to disappear. i backed off around 85 or so. he wasnt going to catch me.
he proceeds to fly by. we meet at the next red light.i put my window down to see if he wanted to talk but he just put his head down. i guess i embarrassed him in front of his GF lol.
i was taking the next jug handle and he takes off and thats where i got to see what car it was. it said M6 on the back of his car. it was also a convertible with a black top.
i checked the specs on them. theyre low 12 sec. car at over 120 in the 1/4 and dyno around 490ish. correct me if im wrong.
bad *** car with a poor driver ill have to say. lol

This. I imagine most of the owners don't drive around in kill-mode all the time, which leaves 100hp on the table. Good run though OP, he'll know better next time.

Well he said in a later post that it was a 3rd generation M6 he saw, which would be the twin turbo V8. Or does the twin turbo V8 have a similar feature?

Hrmm, guess I missed that. In that case, I don't doubt that he could maybe beat one straight-up, but it definitely shouldn't be a freight-training like what happened in this case...your best guess is as good as mine.

heads/cam LS2 GTO should be able to take out a M6 V10. I know I destroyed a modded one that kept trying to sling shot around me (3 times refused to line up, kept back in my at my bumper and would just take off), and I'm a stalled auto that sucks from a roll.

Oh no doubt, though ported 243s and an LS3 cam aren't exactly a "normal" H/C setup. But to destroy one, you need to be pretty fast.

Crap I thought he had a MS3 cam, not a LS3 stock cam! lmao Who the hell puts a LS3 cam into there LS2? Only difference is a bit more intake valve lift which the LS3 heads need... maybe 4 or 5rwhp difference? lol
