With El Fenix himself riding shotgun.

There's a reason my car is down and it's not by choice... Well I guess it is, seeing as I chose the wrong ******* gear LMAO!!

Did the ol' 1-2-1 money shift of ******* doom. 8700 rpm is what I achieved, I'm amazed it lasted 6 more days after this, pretty crazy seeing as I was barely seeing 30 psi oil pressure at WOT BEFORE this happened lol.

Id just switch to a automatic if I ever did that. But what can I say I've gone from 3rd to 2nd before lol

I've been 6th to 2nd, I was aiming for 4th to pass on the highway with my pos chebby. Didn't over rev.....but it was real close.

been there done that. after it happened I ripped the POS B&M shifter off and bought an MGW, never a missed shift since. sucks though man build it better!

I shifted from 5th down to 1st by accident at the end of the back straight of VIR once. I was braking down from 160 and trying to grab 3rd before the next turn. It happened so fast I was just surprised the car didn't spin. Never did that before in my life either, but when you're in the heat of the moment... **** can happen.

Just curious why the rev limiter didnt stop it. Or unless it just didnt work for some reason? Sorry to hear about the engine, i just killed mine lol

rev limiter only cuts fuel and spark. a missed shift causes a FORCED mechanical over rev smacking the valves if its bad enough

Bummer KFC,

Now you got me thinking about a MGW, I tooo have the B&M and just got all the springs etc, replaced, but after that I may just order a MGW.

That sucks kfc. That's kinda how i ended up with a ls6. My buddy did the dreaded 3-2 shift. It bent erry ps but no valves. I still have the motor......with built in valve reliefs after that . lol

I do have an MGW, a built trans also.

Here's the funny thing, on the 1-2 shift, which as I said was purposely SLOW, I got a slight grind which has also NEVER happened! I told myself that if I were going to race it I was going to shift slow as to not break anything, nice to see that plan worked out to the T!
