Tough crowd in here. People talking about a "junk yard" 5.3 running with fully built motor. Doesn't matter what motor it is. You throw a stalled auto, and boosting 25lbs it is a force to reckoned with. I have a forged 347, and I'm sure a stock ls1 with my cam and same mods will run the same as I do. I'm not butthurt about it, I know mine will live for a long time.

This ^^^ Once a car gets the jump on you, if you don't out power him by by alot then it's hard to make up for it.

Yeah, the jump is a hard thing to make up for sure. My brother's stock LT1 TA that trapped right at 100 got the jump on my 108 trap LS1 from a roll starting in second at like 50 and I actually had to run to the top of fourth to get around him. With an even start I obviously walk, but the jump was surprisingly hard to stop.

I have absolutely no reason to favor either car or driver. Every race I heard a 1, 2, 3 count, you jumped (except for the last one). That's it. I think both cars are so evenly matched it's very difficult to overcome a jump, even a very slight one.
