There is no reason why he shouldn't beat either of you based on his other claimed kills....

honestly, at the track, 5 tenths could be driver error at the light, traction, but street racing, it's a whole different ballpark in my opinon.

You wouldn't mind losing to a heads/cam F-body...What do you think a Z06 is...It's a factory Heads/Cam set-up...

If you are beating these cars that you keep posting about...Then you should have no problem taking a H/C F-body...

You are sure getting your moneys worth out of your 363rwhp, that's for sure...

^ In general, it takes about 390-400+ rwhp from an Fbod to beat a stock, decently driven Z06.

I wouldn't compare the stock ls6 cam and stock ls6 heads to shop grind aftermarket cam and ported heads from the top porters. It's not an apples to apples comparison.

On a side note, NICE SETUP!

It is true that the LS6 Heads and Cam are not as hot as some of the aftermarket stuff out there...But as a comparison to a stock LS1 head and cam...It is a big step up...30~40 rwhp in stock trim is a decent gain for any H/C set up over stock, whether it be a factory or aftermarket set-up...Also, with that factory LS6 H/C...To look at the motors externally and to listen to them...You'd be hard pressed to notice a difference, plus the engine behaves like a docile little puppy...Going with some of the hotter set-ups, over stock, usually ends with a little driveability being lost...I know my G5X3 drives pretty decent, as a daily driven car...But, it still likes to be fully warmed up before it will hold idle after tapping the gas and idling in 1st gear, below 1200 rpms, it wants to buck every once in a while...Guess you have to take the good with the bad sometimes...

I do agree with the 390 rwhp being the number...From my past experience with running F-body's...That's about what I would figure they would need to stay with me when I was stock...

Peace...Gman

once again, rwhp isnt truely a reflection of the car's potential. bottom line, learn how to drive your car or you are going to get your *** handed to you. it is very sad to see how some individuals make comparison between two vehicles. one guy says " my car ran 12.0 and the other guy says oh i ran 11.7 so i guess i can beat you on the streets. that is a big mistake. roll race, vehicle set up, weight reduction, and powershifting will be enough to make up for those .3 on the street. once again, i have 3 videos that i havent posted. my SS vs 460rwhp cobra, vs 96 viper gts, vs right hand drive 98 tt supra. i barely beat the cobra, i beat the viper by half a car til about 130mph and i beat the supra by one car. if we were to make excuses that every driver i have raced doesnt know how to drive then how the **** do all these people get a driver's license in florida?? i am also man enough to admit that an integra put an *** WHOOPING on me the following night. bus lengths.
as i mentioned earlier, my car is a true daily driver. i drive it everywhere. i have squeezed every bit out of it for only having 363rwhp. little things that u do add up (short belt with no power steering, back seat removal, weld skinnies, m/t drag radials, front sway bar removed...other weight reductions)
is it uncorfortable to drive it?? you bet it is, but i dont have a freaky car putting down 400rwhp cam only so i got to do what i got to do to get it to run just as strong.
very soon ill put it all back to stock and sell it in order to buy better things. (z06)

ive killed 2 z06's in the last 3 weeks with my car. Hell, it was even much of a challenge. First guy-i told him to hit it, so he jumps ahead 2 carlengths, and then i pull past him and put a carlength on him just in second gear....they start to accumulate even more after that. He was alone, i had a passenger.

Second guy-last night, wants me to follow him to race(i had already revved at him, and he had jumped at me) once we get some road, him next to me with his back tires at the front of my car, he hits it, then i hit it, and pull past his *** like noones business. I couldnt tell how many lengths it was.....car is a handfull on crappy street tires, so i dont get to check the rearview, but im guessing i drug his *** pretty bad since i pulled past him so quickly (like 3 seconds into the race) and thats with him already infront of me.Took him a little bit to catch up once i slowed down too. Guy asked me if i sprayed him......but i wasnt. I dont even have dope on the car.

And i only make 430rwhp.

"Only 430rwhp" ?? Thats plenty in a Z28 is plenty to beat the older Z06's (you didn't specify year) in a street race like you did. It also sounds like you were the better driver too.

Make no mistake though, Z06's are damn nasty stock (Capable of 11's) and even nastier with some bolt-on's. Thats the car itself though, you never know what type of driver is in it.

SJRTX...Let me ask you a question...430 rwhp is alot of hp, more than enough to beat a Z06 in my opinion...But, my Z06 put down 366 rwhp (Mustang Dyno) before the cam and in a 2nd gear punch from 45~50 mph, it would light up the 295mm wide F1 Street tires and those tires bite pretty well...

Tell me how the heck you are getting traction with your "crappy" street tires in a low mph punch race with 430 rwhp??? And then, tell me how you got enough traction to put 3+ carlengths on a Z06 just in 2nd gear??? I could see this on a set of DR or ET Streets, but 430 rwhp and street tires???

That, to me is more amazing than the 360 rwhp camaro beating the Z06 at 100+ mph...

Peace...Gman

the tires are actually stock SS tires that came with the wheels when i bought them. they are pretty much bald now. Both races were on concrete, not asphalt. The first race, with the yellow z06......we raced about 3 times, with the same outcome every time. Id tell him to hit it, and once he did i would follow suit. Those races were around 40-45 mph each time. Because of my powerband, if you hit it at a 45mph punch in second gear, it wont get crazy if your on concrete, but once the power comes on, it will spin. Now asphalt is a different story. Punch it at 45mph, and the car starts to spin pretty hard.

The other night when i raced that silver zo6, i had to feather the gas just a little bit. We were on concrete, but it was cold out. Infact, there was a slight curve in the road when i grabbed 4th, and the car jumped a little sideways-so thats when i let out. Considering im doing over 110 when i shift out of third, i dont need to be getting sideways.

It just all depends on where im at usually. Last night while i was out playing around, i shifted hard into third, and the car skated side to side for 3 or 4 seconds. Sometimes it bites half decent. Usually ive got my hands pretty full trying for traction and keeping the car straight. Thats why i say i cant watch the rearview to count the car lengths.....im too busy trying to stay alive lol.

PS-a stock z06 will probably have more torque down low than i do, which is probably why your car would spin hard at that mph.
