Default 04GTO v Stang GT lite mod

I was on the way home the other night at about 10pm in my 04 GTO m6 when a baby blue Mustang GT with yellow pin striping and some air flow stickers pulled up next me. The car was sharp looking except for the stickers(yr 00-03). We traded some revving and pulling on the state road but couldn't really let loose due to traffic. Then he got on the ramp to I65 and floored it. He was about 5 car lengths ahead at the beginning of the ramp and I was in his exhaust pipe by the end of the ramp. On the interstate I pulled up next to him, let him go first and THEN downshifted and still blew his doors right off. He did a fly by and got off at the next exit. It was my first 'real' kill other than some rice so I had to post I love my GTO it is the most understated and underestimated muscle on the road.

The GTO has grown on me a bit since I first saw it. I definatly like the hood and the rear end of the 2005 better than the 2004. The nose still needs work in my opinion. I hear the interior is real nice (for a pontiac).

What's the real performance difference at the wheels between an 04 and an 05? I know the stated crank hp difference (50hp), but we all know we can't trust GM to reliably tell us what kind of power their engines are making. What's the difference in 1/4 times/trap speeds?

I was very impressed with my friends 05GTO. We took out his car and his dad's 04 Z06 and raced them one night. The Z06 of course won, but that GTO defended itself pretty damn well. I mean it wasnt an *** raping. IT was realatively close in my opinion.

as far as the rice goes, I think I would say it was STEAMED.
The interior is actually pretty amazing. It seats 4 full adults comfortably although actually getting into the back seat is a squeeze for larger peeps. The stereo pounds pretty hard for a stock stereo. The leather is very high quality and the colors on the dash match the paint. The seats are extremely comfortable. It is much nicer than the C5 on the interior although HUD would be nice. Just my .02.
