On night we had about 200 cars imports/domestics in this somewhat secluded industrial area racing and ****, pretty lame with only a few good races, anyway afte a few good hours of just hangin, a cop rolls up, no lights nothin, and just parks and starts watching, a few kids walk over to his car and he stated that he was just here to watch!!!! i about **** myself.....but the irony was that a few weekends after that we were at the same spot and we got a full blown raid...about 7 police cars blocking both exists with Croch rockets flying righ past their road blocks! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />
craziest **** id ever seen, rices franticly running and even backing into eachothers cars trying to leave <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> anyway just thought id ad my "Cop watching-irony" story <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

LOL, Rankin has to be the WORST place to street race i've ever seen. Everytime i've gone to watch there, its been busted a little after 11, and everyone gets spectating tickets. I didnt, but thats because i wasnt driving, and i sprinted across that big *** field to the right, and hitched a ride home with some guys and a few girls in a truck. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> . It is just stupid to try and race somewhere where the cops know you are there, and the cops WILL be there, and you know it. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" /> . I dont know why people keep going there

Here in SD, cops are starting to crack down more and more on street racing and I couldnt be happy. I go tbusted back in 1994 in my built 5.0. Long story short.... I paid through my *** in fines and insurance for the next 3 yrs ( the ticket was reduced to careless instead of reckless/drag racing). To this day I have not street raced since. I have been called plenty of names for not racing but I know my bank account can't take another hit lik that with out me getting rid of my car. I just save it for the track now.

Drag Racing = Reckless Driving right?

So the ticket is also like a misdemeanor?

My 1999 reckless driving arrest (raced an undercover Mustang for a long time <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> ) finally fell off my record, and in Feb my 2000 26+ over ticket falls off too.

well since you guys are talking about tickets I have to say my story too. Last year around october they also gave me a ticket for supposely drag racing. the cause was that we were in a crowd of over I would say 50 cars. We were all on a road that only has one entrace and that entrace is also an exit. the road ends and all you get after that is a road of gravel and TALL grass. Well, i had just got to the racing spot, got off my car and 2 mustangs were going to race when all of a sudden we see the lights of cops. everybody started running. they blocked the only exit and every body tried to go through the gravel road. I was not about to mess up my suspension. so i decided to just go back and face the cop. By the time I get to the cop they were sending 2 Ford Expeditions after everybody else and more back up were comming for the cops. well this cop asked me for the usual. I did not have the insurace with me at that time. so he gives me a ticket. since i know is for insurace i sign the ticket not checking he had also put me down for DRAG RACING! when i went to clear the ticket (show the proof of insurance) they were charging for drag racing. WTF!!!! I later on went to court and disputed the ticket. the judge asked me if I was actually racing and I responded that I was only watching and according to the ticket it said I was racing. In order for the cops to accuse you for racing they have to see me actually RACE. that was my only defense. well, to finally finish the story I won the case I did not have to pay any court fees and they dismissed the ticket. and as for the other guys some actually got away and some got caught.

I have had tons of tickets. My best advice is to get a lawyer. I've had about 35 tickets the last time I checked. None of them ever made it to my records. In fact one of the last times my license came up for renewal, I got a note from the state of Texas saying since I was such a good safe driver I could renew by mail. I've had them for exhibition of powered acceleration, participation in a contest of speed, yada yada yada... Admitting you did something and not showing up with a lawyer is asking for a bu******ing. I know, one of my first tickets was from the DPS. It was a bogus ticket. I showed up without a lwyer and watched the cop just lie out his ***. I even brought witnesses. I asked for a jury trial. After the trial I asked the jurors and they said "we'd believe a cops over a kid any day". I tried to go to court one more time without an attorney and got jacked up on that one to. In this case, I pulled out of a parking lot in front of a cop who was doing 85+mph in a 30 with a prisoner int he car. They wrote me a ticket for failure you yield right of way. But there was no accident,, so how can you prove that. After that, no more. I always show up with a lawyer. In most cases it is cheaper than all the court cost Defensive driving, etc... Most tickets cost me between $80-$100...

If you show up without a lawyer, you only have your self to blame for the strumming they will give you. Many of my ticket are dismissed outright...

The first two tickets I got I totally deserved, they were worth the cost.

I was coming home on this two lane road and this cop who everyone hates had pulled some kid over. I was entering the other lane to go around and the cop opened his door. I swerved to the left and hopped the curb getting around him. What REALLY pissed me off came after I stopped at the stop sign just past this. I swear he gave me the finger, I was so mad I just burned out around the corner. I turned right onto my street, stopped at the sign, and took off down the street. A couple seconds later I see this big *** Tahoe cop swing that big bastard around the corner, then turn on his lights. I pulled over and he gave me hell, but I gave him **** too about parking that close to the center of the road and opening his door with traffic coming, then giving me the damn finger. He tried to get me to admit to everything from exhibition...speed, to speeding, to improper lane changes, to running a stop sign. That last one I admitted to because he was letting on that hell was about to rain down on me. Went to court with judge Yeoman (bad *** judge) and got off.

I got a ticket over in Castroville, past San Antonio. I was coming out of a flood where a dam broke and there was the possibility of a second. I heard over the radio that they were closing the highway ahead of me and turning everyone around. I decided I wasn't about to get caught up in that and floored it, I was in my Tacoma so I was *only* cruising @ 108 for about 30 miles, no one was on the road anyways because they evacuated the town I just came out of. I see a state trooper going the other way and don't even flinch, I figured he had bigger problems on his mind. About 10 miles down the road I'm slowing down because a town (Hondo I'm pretty sure) is coming up and I'm still looking for this trooper in my rearview every few seconds. He must of come up fast because the only time I saw him creeping up was when he turned on the cherries. Pretty nice guy, only gave me a ticket for 87. Thank god he didn't catch me a mile back. I had to get my *** up at 1AM and drive 230 miles all the way down to Castroville to fight that thing. Check out these directions: Get onto Hwy. 6, turn right onto I-10, Exit Geniva street. Anyways, I was the only one who got out of my ticket out of the 35 people there, and that was only because my cop was called up for the reserves. I recall one guy who supposedly was going 95 in an '89 Bronco. He brought up that the situation was impossible because his Bronco had the 351W w/ a C3 tranny, proved it with documentation. I couldn't believe that judge.

I was in my friends camaro (17 yrs old) late one night and we got pulled over, and the cop asked him to pop the hood because he thought he was hiding drugs under the hood...wtf? and so he did, the cop was being an *** to him because he had such a powerful car for a 17 year old...it pulled 632 horse on the dyno, he turned it into a race car basically but anyways, my friend told the cop to touch the headers, and the dumbass cop did and burn't his finger, and was tooken downtown and got hit with a big ticket and fine.
