this wasnt a very good race but it pissed me off so i had to get it off my mind...

during work today i was driving down a long stretch thats a pretti busy street. i had my music loud with the windows up. i hear a rev or two next to me. its a red extcab dakota with the little v8 symbol on the front fender (but i had no clue what engine) so hes smiling at me but he cant see me through the deep tinted windows. then he floors it by me. i was like helllll no. so we cant seem to get a light but we get a stop sign(hate those races, cant figure out a fair way to do it) anyway, he guns it and gets a 1 car jump, i immediatly follow. sure enough the lane merged into one up ahead and we slowed down as we shifted into second, him still being a car ahead. his windows had no tint ansd i could see the little basterd shaking his head like "u dont have a chance"....damn i wanted to strangle the mother f*kr. i was kreepin up and by the end of second i would of been gone too. his truck looked stock but sounded heavily modded, havnt heard a dakota quite like it. i still wish i knew what engine it was. after that the guy turned off onto a one lane street, i was pissed.

I was out to update my vehicle registrations today and on my way home, some guy tried to race me (in his Dakota) too. These people (for whatever reason) think their trucks are fast. This one was a lifted 4X4, on 38's or close. They had **** everywhere and naturally, it just slows the thing down. The traditional, useless dual exhaust was there too. So anyway, I "whooped" him good to about 70mph! That's nearly the 1,000' for the 'ole 99 F-250! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

If ya see that guy again, just roll down your window and say "Whataya got in that thing, a 2.5?" <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> I swear, it get's 'em EVERY time! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

shouldnt matter what size V8 the dakota had, you should still be able to kill one with a few mods.

Some guy did the same damn thing to us. He was driving a black reg cab Dakota. He always races everyone! I've seen him 4 times and it was always on 1960 right past Hwy. 290. He killed us when we were in a loaded down extcab F-150, I got the jump because I was pissed off at him and beat that Dakota in my 3.4L Tacoma, I was headed to the superwalmart at 1 in the morning last Thursday and watched him attempt to race an F-250. Just the other night we caught up with him in a '96 Impala SS, he tried to race us and we zipped right past his happy ***.

Dakota guys will race nearly anything! My brother has a Ranger with a 302HO and a few mods here and there <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" /> and he has a basically hidden dual exhaust system, so most people hear it but, can't tell what they're hearing. Anyway, people in everything try to race him (usually twice) and Dakotas are nearly the most common victims. He can't stop laughing whenever he gets near one. It's hilarious, especially when he let's them go till he's well into 2nd gear before blowin' by liesurely. Most people just can't believe a Ranger is outrunning them! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> It's the ultimate sleeper too, as it looks so normal to the average ricer...er... racer. <img border="0" alt="[jester]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_jest.gif" /> I've actually seen people lose to him and just pull over and pop the hood, clearly trying to see what's gone wrong!
