Default 00WS6 vs VW R32

This was just one friendly run between my crazy *** greek friend and me that's been waiting a long time to happen. His VW R32 has a chip, intake, and some sort of opened exhaust mod with 23k miles on it(yes he beats the hell out of it). I on the other hand just got my Stock 2000 WS6 Formula M6 from my dad who traded in my old rice burner for a nice 05 GTO(both cars are black, hood scoop wearin', 6-speed Pontiacs).
I had one friend with me in my car and a full tank, he had only himself and nearly empty(as usual). The R32 is only awd when it looses traction so technically this is an underated 240hp fwd with mods.
We went from a 70mph roll so I used 3rd and started pulling on him slowly till 95 where I had him by about 1-1.5 lengths, then hit fourth and started to pull more so he shut down little after 100 as i was kicking rocks and dust in his face.
Fun all-in-all but I wouldn't want to go against him from a launch. First post, First kill, and many more to come!

good kill. I never heard of a R-32 but Road&track lists it at 14.1 @ 99 about the same as my old stock 95 formula.

Nice kill

I wondered how a slightly tuned R32 would do against a basically stock LS1 WS6.

There's some out there with SC's on 'em. They put down 340 or so to the wheels but they are still heavy assed cars. Of course, there is the black one in Germany making 900 AWHP that is just insane. I highly doubt we'll see anything like that one for a while.

I ran two at Gateway international.

The first one had basic bolt on mods, Intake/exhaust etc etc...

He had me out of the hole, but by the middle of 2nd gear I reeled him in and beat him by about a car. He absolutely beat the crap out of the car on that launch.

I have a Stage I SRT Btw.....

The second race was against my buddy's r32. He watched the first guy and talked sooo much crap about he couldnt launch his car.. etc etc ..... Well when we finally lined up I had him beat by a full second.

Neat cars.... I'd rather go with an Fbody though

they are not a tt drivetrain on a VW body. There's one here in the states that runs 11's w/turbo. The black one from Europe is no R32. It's custom race car. the guys name is Dalbach. go to www.audituning.net and check out the car

Anyone who knows any greeks would agree with me. My friends family was very accurately depicted in that documentary, My Big Fat Greek Wedding. And the exhaust mod is an open exhaust valve.

no, the one in europe runs something like a high 8 or low 9 quarter mile. the car lays down over 900 to the wheels. He's broken 4 dynos so far, and one being in So cal last year.

what u crasy 2nd in an m6 at 70 thast a little above the stock settings even with the rpms set at 6.6k or 7k that would be right at the very end of 2nd. might as well go to third and he'll be at like 4k or so rpm.

Nice kill
The R32's are pretty cool little cars, but not as much of a threat as the STI's or Evos...

You'd be surprised with those few mods how that car runs. The owner of the R32 let one of our other friends just drive it around and we spotted an M3 behind us. We slowed down and asked the M3 driver at the stoplight if he had SMG, but it was just a stick with a short throw that the kid had for about a month(temp plates still on it). He said he just sold his R32 to get that.

Well he had three people in his car and we only had two but he was a good sport and we did three runs from a stop and one from a roll and everytime to my amazement the R32 won by 2-3 car lengths depending on how fast we went up to, usually around 60-70. Even from a 40-45 roll we started pulling, and remember the driver in the R32 rarely drives this car cuz it's our friends, on top of that he was in sandals. Granted the kid drives a base 5 speed sunfire which can teach you to drive ANY car, but don't doubt these little VW's.

And as for 2nd. vs. 3rd. at 70mph it just wouldn't be worth it, the tires would probably break loose and even if they didn't the shift into third at 75 would've negated any real gain. Not like I needed it anyways, this ain't no shitty M3, this is a WS6

dude if u think the dalbach gti runs 8's your on glue...last i heard it never made a real pass down the quater since it breaks so much...ive owned 5 vw's and ive been a member on the vwvortex for well over 5 years..and in that time ive never heard more than dyno #'s out of it...now theres a blue vr6 twin engined twin turbo that runs really good but its not a r32...dalbach claims to recreate his race car it would cost $250k..its a full tube chassis and full carbon body..

I am definitely not doubting these cars. Hell, look at the title under my user name! Haha, just mentioning that being naturally aspirated compared to what I see as similar vehicles with AWD being the turbo'd STI's and Evo's, its not exactly in the same playing field once modifications start. Its just easier/generally cheaper to make a turbo car faster than a naturally aspirated one. Maybe Im making a bogus comparison, but thats just where I see it standing in my mind. I think the cars are still cool as hell though...
