got to experience the 4.6
Buddy of mine got a 2003 mustang gt 5 speed today. It is the roush stage 1 edition. Ground effects and side exit exhaust, real nice looking car.
Decent power, a tad better top end than an lt-1 I would say.
But...I highly doubt that this car would beat an lt-1 6 speed. LT-1 just seems to be so much more powerful and torquey...I just dont see it happening like the mustang guys say it does.
I would give the lt-1 car at least a 1-2 car andvantage in the 1/4.
He wanted to race me...but I didnt even feel like wasting my gas...lol
just my .02

To the best of my knowledge, the rousch stage 1 has absolutely no performance mods accept the side exit.
I'd put my money on the LT1 too, although it would have been nice to hear a kill story.

So you decided not to run so you really didn't experience a 4.6 then right?

That is about right for a 40th anniversary V6. Nice job.

Yeah...I got to ride in the thing so I experienced it first hand. I have raced them before....but have never ridden in them.
If you guys really want me to race him I can....I am guessing I will put about 8-10 car lengths on him in the 1/4. I just didnt think it was worth the risk since,no money involved, no pint. He knows I will murder him.
I would put 4 to 5 lengths on these cars when I was stock.
I was just referring to how it felt to ride in one.

stage 1 roush is a GT w/ a body kit and some decent exhaust. same 260hp 4.6. i had a chance to drive an '05 GT with full exhaust and some 4.10's. the car was pretty impressive. the drive by wire crap is weird, it's like the throttle slams shut during power shifting. weird feeling. but that's what happens when ricer technology finds it's way to american muscle

ya i dug out the slip and got the vid hosted he ran a 16.633 at 85.17, I never relized how slow he was it must have been a v6. I ran a 14.0 at 102 but a horrible 60 ft time of 2.4. My best time that night ended up being a 13.94 with a 2.2 60ft. wasnt to bad for the first time at the track with the m6.
heres the vid

you guys should really read up on roushes. the stage 1's can EITHER be a V6 or V8. not all roushes come with an appearence package either. stage 1's retain the stock suspension as it came from ford. stage 2/3 is where the suspensions mods come in, with the stage 2's getting the stiffer suspension. ALL stage 2/3's are V8's. only the stage 3/360R/380R/440A/classic get roots blower added to them.
