so im cruising down the interstate at about 70mph in front of some guy in a pewter C5 who keeps grinning in my rear-view mirror. its about 6pm. im thinkin to myself, i swear im a magnet to these guys itching to run there C5's.

there is light traffic and im in the fast lane. the lane two lanes over opens up and this guy flys over into that lane and stops even with me, lucky for me the guy in front of me moves over one lane(must have seen the same thing i saw.)
so i figure hey why not. go down to 4th at 75-80 and wait for him to jump. he jumps im right on his *** and edge up on him till i get my bumper in front of his at the top of my 4th. i shut down and he keeps goin...peace..
soon as i glance in my rear-view mirror i see blue lights strikingly similar to an EVO. whata you know it is an EVO! he just takes off after the vette at the next exit onto another highway....peace...
at this time im going about 90 just cruisin in 6th and out of the corner of my eye i see a black 94-95 style drop top stang low and loud, as i go cruising by him i look over and see him downshift and his front end lift. till he gets up to my speed (about 75mph now)
and i swear this guy looked like Danny DeVito! the guy looked much like you would imagine a midget with male pattern baldness driving a mustang.
so anyway, i go back into 4th at about 75mph and we jump at the same time and this thing sounded HEALTHY!
for the first few seconds i was kinda scared because we were running dead even! then i started to edge out on him till he was back at my rear bumper....peace....
i give 'em the thumbs up and i get off at my exit.

yes this was on 270 south between manchester and all the way to tesson ferry.

i wouldnt dream of putting my car in 3rd at 75mph with 4.10's

you would be sitting just over 5k rpms. you would have another 1k rpms before you had to shift. and i bet you would jump out in front alot harder then u do startin in 4th. just remember to rev match on your downshift and it should slip right into gear. BTW nice kills

not to say i havent put my car in third at 75mph, but my car pulls a lot better from 4k rpm in 4th which is about where my car peeks torque.

either way he got taken.. =]

i just dont like crusing at 5k rpm, thats how i tend to throw belts off.

Nah, GIR is open until October 15th. So we have two more Tuesday's street car events left.
