New charger?
So this gal at work who knows little to nothing about cars thinks that her mom's new charger is God.
I realize that it probably IS faster than my TA, but Id like to give it a run for ***** and giggles. She wont tell me what model it is other than it being "fully loaded". Anyone know the specs on these things stock?
All I have done to the TA is catback and SLP lid as well as a few misc. suspension upgrades.
Thoughts? Comments?

if its jus tthe hemi..you'll take it..those ******* are heavy...if its the srt8 charger...it will give a stock t/a a run for its own money. so just a hemi=slaughter...srt8=driver's race.

what year and tranny are you Nick? Hell fully loaded could mean its a V6 with all the whistles and bells. Talk a lot of smack anyways what are the odds she is gonna race you, much less that she actually has an SRT8.

My TA is a 98 vert with an 02 M6 tranny in it. Spec3 clutch, SLP loudmouth and SLP airlid. Like I said I have a few other suspension mods but they are the usual...front and rear sways LCAs ect.
I highly doubt its an SRT8 but I will bet is still the hemi.

Ive read about them in several magazines, the hemi's are only running mid-low 14's. The STR-8 is a different story. I just read an article on it that compared it with the '05 GTO, it was only a tenth or two faster than the GTO. I wouldnt worry if I were you, I think you will be fine. I have yet to even see one of the SRT's on the road. Has anyone seen one on the road yet?

So like, who the hell is going to drive that charger anyway? Even if it is an SRT I have some doubts that the chick or her mom would be in any hurry to race.
Seriously, I havn't seen the SRT charger outside of any magazine. The pictures I have seen of them shows lots of striping, emblems ,etc. Since the charger is one of dodges attempts to get in on the muscle car scene they went all out to get peoples attention.
On paper they have an impressive drivetrain, but like the guys above said, its a heavy car.

I always see a bunch of smack about the new Chargers. Yeah yeah, it doesnt have 2 doors blah blah. I took one for a ride and fell in love. They're by no means an F-body but they're still very nice cars. Now I got the best of both worlds heh. This chick is lost if she thinks she can run ya. Oh and the reason you havn't seen an SRT-8 Charger out and about is they're just now getting to the public.

I posted in the article area awhile ago about the SRT8 since I had a run with one from a roll and it was pulling. In my defense though I started at a weak spot with my A4 and that usually kills my run. From a dig I think I would have had a chance and even whooped it.
The other chargers will lose IMO.

I have seen ALOT of regular hemi chargers at our dragstrip: 14.8's--13.9's is the normal from what they run here ( sea level) Only one SRT-8 and it was pullin 13.4's--13.6's all day. The track was hookin pretty good w/ an air temp of 70 degrees. The srt8 was an auto w/ that auto stick crap, so who knows how he was shifting it. All I know is, a slightly modded, unragged, LS1 fbody should whip them both.

Drove the new charger RT and the WOT pull feels more like a 260HP LT1 Caprice or Impala but with a little more top end power...but then again it had 1500 miles on it so it hasnt even been broken in yet!
