Me vs. cammed 02GT Cliffs below....
My neighbor has an 02 mustang GT with LT headers, throttle body/intake manifold, offroad x-pipe, flowmasters, i have heard that he had hand ported heads but he never said anything but he races alot so he might have wanted to not tell me all his mods, stock 3.27 gears and medium stage cams that make about .550 lift. 5spd.
I have a 98 z28 a4 with 3.23's slp loudmouth and slp lid. I put 16 inch wheels with 245's up front and had 17inch chrome SS wheels with nitto 275's outback. I mixed matched them for the race since the 17's kill me. I have removed my back seats, and my spare tire and jack.
We've been waiting for this for about 2 months because of rain and such. We went out to a deserted road and decided on a 10 roll because he was on 245 street tires and my nittos were bald.
1st race, we line up, i put my tranny in third(helps it downshift alot!) and i gave him the hit, he took off about a millisecond before me and by the bottom of my first we were dead even but by the time we hit second he had me by a half car. At about 70mph the camaro top end and aerodynamics kicked in and i had him by about 1/2 car length. i was really excited! I will say this though, he broke his leg in a bike accident about 2 months ago and was hurting kind of bad, so his shifting wasnt at its best and he also had a light passenger. so minus the passenger, and with driver mod i think he would have had about a car on me. Great race though!
Next race, he wanted a 40 roll, which is terrible for me but whatever. So of course he killed me by about 1.5 cars. And last race he wanted to spray for the hell of it. He sprayed a 150 shot from a 10mph roll and by about 70 he had 2 cars on me and was pulling.
Great races, i was really happy with my car and he was cool about the runs. there will definetely be some competition between us though lol. hes getting a vortech s trim soon and im getting full exhaust and a stall.
CLIFFS: raced cammed bolt on 5spd 02gt from a 10 roll and pulled 1/2 car by 90 he had a passenger and needed a little bit of a driver mod, but not really.
