Default Dodge Charger SRT8

One of my neighbors and I went at it this morning. I drive an 02 Z06 mostly stock.

We started at a 50MPH roll. The Charger hung in there for a few seconds but I quickly pulled two car lengths on him and then he left off. After that, he wouldn't come within 200 yards of me!

All in good fun. Badazzzz looking car. Four doors, but still bad. I want to get him from a dig next time.

Well bone stock the SRT-8's are capable of low 13's/high 12's and top out at 170+ so it can hang pretty well with more than you think.

The Charger SRT8 is a nice car and the performance is awesome for such a boat. I just think putting the charger name on a 4-door sedan is wrong, fast or not. They are uglier than a one-eyed, one tit woman on a sober night in my opinion. Now the new Challenger...that's a nice lookin' performance car.

Nice kill, poster. Way to represent a real American sports car.

More than i think huh! Well, considering i have run them and seen them run i think i have an idea of what they can do at the track! I know they can run similar times to a stock ls1, but that still doesent negate my point that they are boats and if lighter or even a 2-door they could run down alot more cars then they do! But as far as the daytonas are concerned, i have yet to see one in near stock form, i.e. catback, run anything better than a 14.xxx, and i ran a friends on the street both on the interstate and at a light and both times it was a steady pull.

They made a 02 Z06? I thought the first year was 03 and it was the 385 horse version?

The Z06's made a come back in 01 with 385hp. With a few modifications in 02 the car was bumped up to 405.

These are nice cars with plenty of HP but way to heavy 4250 pounds come on its not a tuck. They could have put some fiberglass fenders and doors on the car to lighten it up at least a little.

It's not just the weight guys..they have SHIAT for rear gears......under 3.00. It's like an A4 base Fbod gear....2.73s??

I do like there manny/auto shift tranny.....pretty cool

And yeah..the R/T's and Daytona's are SLOW. I loved the ride of the Daytona, but slow.

Seconded. I staged with one in my DSM and he got a 1.8 60 foot to my 1.9 and he ran a 13.1 at IIRC 108. I am launching easy but thats still damned impressive.

Given someone who knows how to launch them well and get the weight to the rears without bogging, they are seriously mean.

At the same time, a freind with an SRT8 ran a mid 14 the same night. They take a certain technique to run their best times and I dont think its the easiest to learn.

i raced an srt-8 from a dig but i only won b/c he gave up. he was creeping up and obviously going to pass me if we kept going but he chose not too. i think they are a tad faster than ls1s in stock form. i have an m6 with just a catback.
