Played with a CTS-V
and the owner was not happy afterwards...
I noticed him as I was a couple of miles from my house, he was pulling out of a car wash. Next thing I know he is on my rear end trying to get me to speed up to pass a set of cars. I obliged him to see if he was wanting to play.
He pulls next to me and throw down into 2nd hear him do the same. We both hit it and before the end of 2nd I am pulling him by about a car or so, hit 3rd and add another 1/2 car or so to the lead and then I let out as we were getting close to populated areas.
I guess for a 4000 pound car it did well, he would not look over at me afterwards. I tried to give him a thumbs up but he would have none of it. As we neared the intersection where I was going to turn he got the green light and dumped it and took off.
Oh well, it was nice to show him that you dont need a $50k car to be fast...

Actually I dont have my sig pic turned on, I have not updated it in some time. Not that much has changed, I just suck at the track because I not willing to dump the clutch to get the time as i dont want to buy a rear end.
I added a LS7 clutch, underdrive pulley, custom tune to the car over the last year or so. Getting ready to make it back to the dyno next month and fine tune on it some more. Hoping to break over the 350 range without longtubes or a cam.

I ran a CTS-V on the freeway and mopped him. It was an older white haired guy. I was admiring the Caddy and he was acmiring my car when after riding close for a couple of miles he stomped it . I hit the gas and walked away. The guy was cool though, he gave a thumbs up when he caught up. I had run it up to 125ish before I let off. We just continued to cruise for a while after that.

good kill man.. although saying you dont need a lot of money to go fast its all relative really.. you could be smoking fast in a 15k car, or you can be real fast in a 50k car in style..hell, you can make a golf kart into a rocketship if you wanted. (but i do understand your point, and agree somewhat, just playing devils advocate)it all boils down to what you like. if i had the cash id certainly have a cts-v and mod the hell out of it, so i could beat up on people in my cadillac. take the E55 benz, or the bimmer M5, even the srt8 300c from chrysler.. power and class..
if ultimate performance is the only benchmark to use then your never going to beat a motorcycle.. just go spend 6-7 grand on a used gsxr1000. change a rear sprocket for 50 bucks and run 9's bone stock.

nice kill, those CTS-Vs are a blast to drive, quick and luxurious, and I like the idea of an LSX in a luxury car, but they are a little heavy (although still much lighter than a mercedes or the like). too bad you don't see many mods for them or many modded ones drivin around.
