Default Drove a modded 996 turbo last night!!

I was watching the game last nite at my buddies when another friend called and said come outside. I walked out to see a silver 911 turbo on massive black deep dish wheels and beautiful yellow brakes peeping out. Apparently my friends dad had bought it, had it shipped to thier house and not told anyone. It's not my friends car (he has a tahoe) so we aren't spoiled little *****. Anyways i ride around the block in it then he just pulls in a random driveway, gets out and tells me to drive!!! He knows im basically obessed with speed. I was literally shaking. It drove like absolute butter below 1/3 throttle. It was loud as **** and scary in anything but a straight line. I took it out on the freeway and hit 150 so fast and smooth. It rode as smooth as my vette but had sooooo much more composure everywhere. The brakes made the seat belt almost cut you!! I know nothing about porsches but he said it had a package installed by some well known tuners in the porsche world (only one i've ever heard of is techart). I think it had upgraded turbos, exhaust, intake, ecu, suspension, body kit, etc, etc, etc. honestly my friend isn't into cars so he was only repeating what he remembered overhearing. I was halfway hoping to see a vette or modded fbody! call me a traitor but i woulda loved it!! Anyways, i know this isn't a race but it was the coolest driving experience of my life and i had to share!!

P.S. it REALLY made me want a new Z06 so i could compete!

Coulda been any of the following: Ruf, Roock, Gemballa, Techart.
They are all panty-dropper pimps basically. Porsche does a fine job at the holistic approach.

Glad you had fun.

IBTL haha.

Maybe the rest of us are lucky not to have driven one as it would likely make what we drive feel like a slow piece of econocrap. Glad you enjoyed it.

Just dont get too aggressive too soon in those. The last couple gens are a lot more forgiving, but apperantly they can still send you ***-first into the scenery if your not familiar with the dynamics of a car with about 75% of its mass resting on the rear wheels.

I want a 997 turbo in the worst way. Id put it right next to a Z06 and spend my morning deciding which to drive
