Stronger Sway BAr Bushing brackets?
Does anyone have a lead to some place that makes beefier sway bar bushing brackets? I have busted my driver's side bracket a couple of months ago, but I attributed it to the re-inforcement bracket being removed. That has been replaced, but the other day my passenger's side bracket snapped while making a right on to a freeway on ramp (at normal speeds). If no solution is available, I may just fab up a set (possibly sell) and be done with it.
BTW, the brackets have well over 170K miles, they could have just been tired of over 7 years of abuse.

Just my opinion....
I've always been leery of reinforced brackets. I've never broken one but I've also never been interested in making that part stronger. I would rather that the relatively cheap and easily replaceable part fail first.
That way I'll never have to deal with a mangled subrame when the reinforced bracket tears loose.
*shrug*

Yes, there are upgraded brackets. Alan Blaine of Blaine Fab takes factory brackets and reinforces them so they won't break.
Here is a thread on Frrax about them (if you can see it):

Here is the info:
- MIG welded .083" steel plate triangulates two of the four mounting points, with flared hole for increased rigidity.
- donor brackets are brand new, genuine GM stock
- Clears ABS/CC/etc: useable on a completely stock car, LT1 or LS1
- available 'as welded' with no finishing for $60/pr + shipping + sales tax in CA
- available with gloss black powdercoat for $85/pr + shipping + sales tax in CA
I generally have both powder coated and as-welded brackets in stock
Shop phone is 831 427-3296 email: ablaine (at) cruzio (dot) com
Thanks and regards,

Reinforced brackets aren't going to tear the subframe. But, a broken swaybar mount could tear up an oil pan or something else when the swaybar comes loose!
Get the brackets and never worry about it again.

It has happened. It was seen elsewhere and discussed on FRRAX.
