can someone find out what rear end is in it not ur if its the dana 60 or 44?
tryn to figure out cause needs to get some work done on it but not sure on what parts to order!

I was under the impression that it was a 14 bolt semi-floater with 5 lug axles.

It appears the Dana 44 is a front end axle, the 454SS should be a Dana 60 14 bolt semi-float with 6 lugs.

Dana 44's come on the rear of some jeeps.

A real 454SS truck has a GM Corporate 14 bolt with a 9.5 ring gear. Semi floating axles AND FIVE LUGS. This is why the 454SS 14 bolt is so rare, because it's the only 14 bolt that has 5 lugs.

If your parts guy is being a dumbass get parts for a 3/4 ton 14 bolt semi floater, the only difference is the axles and drums (again because 3/4 tons have six lugs---454SS five lugs)

Go ask at 454ss.com, get flamed for asking a beat to death question.

how do i find out how many splines i got?? i was gonna put a posi in it but they so damn expensive.. like 600 for one and they dont make mini spools for my rear end then i heard i could weld the spider gears but i cant do that witha a limited slip so now i need to find a open carrier but i needa find out how many splines i got so i can find the rite one

I bet that rear can handle some power! Never heard of the 14 bolt gm rear so thats a new one on me. Nice truck
