Default Play in front brakes

I kept getting a clunking/rattling sound and i've realized its my front passenger side brakes/rotors. I took the wheel off and i've realized theres ALOT of play in them. They brake fine, but rattle around alot.... newb question but how do i tighten it back down?? The rotor has alot of play and the caliper rattles some to.

so whats actually moving the brake pads or the caliper ? the rotor will move around alot until the wheel is on and lug nuts are tight. but to make sure everything is tight there should be two bolts on the caliper and two bolts on the bracket that holds the caliper. not sure if the caliper has regular or allen head, on my 94 it has a allen. tighten them up and take it for a ride. if it still has noise you may need to shim your pads.

yes they sell them separately at any autoparts store. they clip on to the brake pad. either that or you can replace your caliper braket.

we have allen keys on our calipers. Your rotor should be pretty tight with the caliper bolted down. they are 5/8 allen key if i remember correctly. Get a socket with that size . make sure its tight. if there is still movement, like said before check your bearings!

A caliper hardware kit will have new bushings for the caliper bolts to slide on, get two and renew them and the rest of the hardware. The rotors float, without the lug nuts tight they will be loose. The calipers will be able to wiggle with a heavy hand but shouldn't be loose or rattling around. The bushings are shot if everything's tight.
