Default Brembo rotors & EBC GreenStuff... not so much

I honestly can't tell you which one it is, but something in the rotor and pad setup just ain't right. I replaced the rotors and pads at the exact some time, even the hardware (ie. guide pins, anti-rattle plates, bolts). I followed the breakin procedure EXACTLY as stated and I even gave the pads PLENTY of time (they were replaced last summer and it's practically next summer) to break them in and eat away at the break-in material to the real pad material...

Let me tell you all, these brakes squeal like a MOTHER!!

It's so annoying especially now that it's warm outside and I always have the windows down. They are squealing right in my ear! Ugh, so annoying. I think I'm going to give it a little while longer and then I'm just going to throw on some ceramic pads. Maybe they'll be quieter. Any other suggestions?

Thanks,

Adam

Squealing is the pads and/or hardware. Rotors don't squeal.

My Brembo blanks do not squeal with my Hawk HPS pads. But they do stop extremely well. Just thought I would give you another data point.

What made you choose GreenStuff??

According to EBC's website, it looks like they are organic pads...which our braking systems weren't designed for. Our cars came with semi-metallic pads from the factory.

I have the EBC RedStuff on my car, and aside from the occassional squeal, they have been quiet. They've also lasted a damn long time and stop very well. They were on the car when I bought it 3 years ago, and despite all the hard braking I've done, they still have close to 50% pad life left.

I had the same setup 'til this week, Greenstuff+Brembo blanks, and I rarely heard anything from them. The dust, however, is pretty bad.

Greenstuff is better than Redstuff for a DD.

Yeah, well upon reading some of the other threads, I think I'm going to get a set of HPS pads from you Sam...
