Default lol....question about re-installing upper control arms....

I took all this stuff apart, have to put it all back together now.

When the upper front control arms get bolted back into its mounting craddle (I guess thats what its called).

Say for the drivers side upper a-arm....does the ball joint go forward or rearward when installed?

Looking at this, it looks like the ball joints face rearward..............

I redid my front suspension recently. I'm not sure of your question. The threaded rod faces down, and the balljoint is moveable? I'm attaching this PDF that I used for reference when I did mine. Hope this helps.

Awesome, that answers it. You know how the ball joints for the uppers are not positioned at the midpoint on the a-arm? The ball joint goes towards the rear of the car when installed onto the mounting plate.

Thanks.

That's funny since I did the same thing too at least twice. You would think I would have learned. I didn't know until I was trying to put the spindle back up on the ball joint. haha. I've taken the front end apart now so many times, and I still have to make sure I get it right. Now I put the upper arm down on the floor in the same direction and side of the car it came off of so I don't screw it up and don't get the sides mixed up. I just hate having to take it all back apart again.
It's amazing how it's so simple, yet we all seem to make the same mistake. LOL.
Although, because of my mistakes, I can take the front end apart now, both sides, in probably less than 90 minutes. I guess practice makes perfect. lol

Thanks for posting this attachment. The torque specs will come in handy.
