poly vrs rubber bushings?

Depends on what the bushing is going into and your goals for the car. Poly is stiffer than rubber, but it tends to bind which prevents proper suspension articulation (only really important if you like your car to handle well or have good street manners). I do have a poly bushing in my LCA (along with a roto-joint on the rear to allow for proper articulation) and haven't heard any squeaks at all. If you keep the bushings greased and they're not worn out they shouldn't make much noise if any.
