Default Parking brake not staying up.

When I engage the parking brake (pull the lever up) it just falls back down with a ratcheting sound. If I hold it up it holds the car fine, but it just won't stay up. I'm assuming whatever little tooth or whatever holds the lever up is worn, but I haven't really taken a look at it, and was wondering if anyone had a quick tip or anything to save me from a new assembly.

Pull the center dash out of the car to expose the handle mechanism. There should be a spring there that holds the ratchet. Maybe its loose or broken. Is the push button also real easy to push in?

The button feels normal. It's just that the handle doesn't stay up. I'll take a look at that sometime this week.

yea there is a little metal tab that holds it in place, then the button releases, the spring may have fallen off?
