Ws6Store has a good priced kit that uses our (UMI) brackets in the kit.

I hope that helps!

So will the C5 calipers bolt right up to the stock F body brake lines? I see in the kit it includes new banjo washers.

they will, but i ordered the J&M braided lines from ws6store at the same time i bought then kit, i think they were like 70 bucks more. and the cutting of the spindle is nothing. easy job with a hacksaw. or even easier with a sawzall and metal cutting blade takes no time at all to cut that little ear off

The 98-02 F-Body lines are usually long enough and work. If you want new lines you can also purchase 97-04 Corvette lines that will bolt right on and be longer. The 93-97 lines are usually too short.

It uses 1" thick alum pieces as adapters on the bracket. They dont line up exact, and isnt very strong once the caliper is attached.

Interesting because I remember giving my opinion about those "brackets" which were really just spacers, and the guy that owned that company gave me $hit about it.

If you want a tried true and tested bracket that's gone through the most R&D and don't want to take any more risks then I would look up if you can still get the "trackbrackets". They were the original C5 kit I believe. After that a lot of companies started to make their own version.

The originals, which I think were Bob Bishop brackets to start with and then eventually named "trackbrackets", and now I believe may go under a different name... went through an evolution of a few different models. They really tested them out good so that they hold up well in road racing applications.

If you don't care to pay a little more to get a quality product, I'd go this route. It's not that much more really compared to other brackets.

Now the question is.. who sells them?

I've actually got a new pair of trackbrackets that I never installed I'd be willing to part with that could save you some money.

And I'm assuming you found them through J&M (a.k.a. hotpart)...that's where the ones I have came from.

I have UMI's brackets, which I think are very similar, if not identical, to the old track brackets.

I previously had the LG brackets which don't require cutting the spindle, but you have to use the F-body pad bracket.

I like the UMI's better, cutting the ear off the spindle was a quick job, and doesn't bother me in the least. Nice product.
