Default Lowering Spindle or Springs?

I have been thinking about lowering my car an inch or two. I have been seriously contemplating using a lowering spindle instead of springs on the front. This seems to make good sense to me and would allow the use of factory springs and struts and give you pretty much allow the full travel, etc.

Does anyone have opinions on the spindles vs the springs? Pros and Cons either way?

What were you planning on buying, I'm guess by your concern for suspension travel this is a street car? Drop spindles can introduces their own issues with clearance of the steering components. The only aftermarket spindles I've seen are drag spindles, and in my opinion they are unsuitable for street use.

There are things like the upper mount mod to regain travel, or lowering a-arms.

Yes...street use only. I never thought about steering clearance. Are you are talking about the tie rods getting into the wheels?

Yes, I've seen that on older camaros that used drop spindles. Given how the knuckles and tie rods are assembled on the 4th gen I can see the same issue occurring.

Why not just get a quality lowering spring? Strano springs will give you a nice stance, while not being too low. They are also very streetable

Well, that's a fair question. I like the idea of using the factory suspension/springs, but it's not something I insist on having. Plus, I have a good set of rear lowering springs. But all in all, you have the solution I'm going to have to use by the looks of it.
