The front end of my 08 G8 is chewing tires up like crazy and struts are leaking. Does anyone have advice on new struts?

This is a common complaint from those who have collapsed upper strut mounts, which can occur within the first 40,000 miles or less. I've seen as low as 18,000 miles! When these collapse, it throws the front out of alignment and will cause interference with the struts in some extreme cases. Either way, you'll blow through a set of tires rapidly if it's not addressed.

Leaking struts are not common, but we have seen it before. I believe they are unrelated.
