Default Irotors?

I think I decided to go with irotors cross drilled and slotted. Are the holes in these drilled after the fact or are the holes made when the rotors are coated? I heard if the holes are drilled after the fact they will crack. Also, what is a good nonexpensive pad to use with these?

All drilled rotors can crack, and most do if you use the brakes enough.

And, they are drilled later....

Dunno about warranty, but mine havent cracked. Yet.

When dealing with drilled rotors, this is a chance you take. If you want to be safe, just use OEM blanks. Not pretty, but no chance to crack.

i dont think its that big of an issue for daily driving or you would hear more about it, i have mine sitting in my room, need to get some pad and put em on, im not worried about them cracking. if it were race use ie, road racing, i wouldnt have a doubt they would crack if they were pushed to hard

you can crack even blanks.. if you really want to save rotors and get the best you cryogenically freeze them... you may have to find a place but here in the bay area there is one local in the 925 area... we have cracked a few blanks road racing up at sears and thunder hill... also freeze the pads

I've had the stock rotors ( front and rear ) replaced or turned 4 times in 32,000 miles. I've seen 2 of these rotors with cracks in them. I change to iRotors with Raybestos pads and no problems so far... we will wait and see....
