UMI Sub frame connecors hitting pinch welds
I'm trying to install the UMI SFC on my dads Convertible..
After fighting with the bolt that goes through the LC, got ready to bolt the front up and it and the outer bar is hitting the pinch weld and Im not even close to being able to get the bolts close to the little bar you bolt them too.
Is there something I'm missing?
It seems like It needs to be pushed inwards to clear the pinch weld..
Any help would nice.
Thanks
Steven

Hi Steven.
Did you purchase the SFC's new? Both convertible and hardtop style (two different products) should bolt in smoothly. I'm happy to look at some pics at ramey@umiperformance.com.
thanks

There bought new
Good news though. Got them in.
What was happening was the SFC ends that bolt to the tunnel were hitting the brace. Preventing the SFC to move inward...
So had to take the entire brace off.
That brings me to my next issue. The stock tunnel brace will not fit in between the SFC's. The stock brace is too wide. Is ok to leave it off or do you guys make a aftermarket one for a convertible?
