Default Had a braking issue coming off the highway

My exit was coming up shortly so I floored it for the thrill and as soon as I reached the long exit I started slowing down. At first I was hitting the brakes softly, but felt I was still going to fast so I started to pressing harder on the brake pedal, but it felt like my braking power was gone like someone sprayed a lubricant on the pads while I was braking. So I let off the brakes and reapplied them slightly lighter and I slowed down better. Is this because of brake pads showing age, or is there something else?

You overheated the brake pads and they glazed.

You did the right thing by letting up and reapplying lightly.

that happened to me once when I was going 120 down a road around here....but I had no option but to take a turn ahead with the E-Break engaged...crazy crazy ride. But never lost control...

Needless to say I won't be doing any runs up to 120 anymore...
