Default Are LS1 & LT1 steering racks the same?

I think this is the correct forum...

I've read that when converting from 93~97 V6/LT1 to LS1 (Dropping LS1 into 94 v6 car) that the steering rack and pinion ***'y must be changed to one for an LS1. Is this correct? I will not be using the stock LS1 K-member, instead I will be using a tubular K-member. I'm not sure if the change is only necessary when using the stock K member.

I've seen people on ebay list rack and pinions for years "93~02" and also so special SS upgraded steering units. Does anyone know if they are all the same of not?

THanks,
D

LS1 and LT1 , V6 have different racks.

You need the LS1 steering rack and the LS1 steering linkeage as well.

I guess you would need an LS1 power steering pump too then.
