Bilstein HD are fine for rear. Good up front to unless you want
to upgrade to Konis. You have decarbons stock. I just replaced
the ones in my 99 too. Front seem ok for a little while longer.

How much crack is the dealer smoking?
You could get a set of 4 Koni SA shocks for something like $700, the last time I checked.
As for drag racing - It's not my thing but I've heard good comments about QA1 hal shocks.

If your SS has the Bilstein suspension on it, then you have stock HD Bilsteins in the rear, and revalved (lower rate) Bilsteins up front. I'm not sure at all if you'd have the Decarbons on an SS, seems unlikely they'd put that junk on it but you never know.
Rear shocks/springs are one of the easy to do. fwiw, I think if you want primarily drag race, then the HALs are a good choice.

Anyway, I would agree with the adjustables for serious drag racing. Otherwise just get a good shock, Bilstein HD for example. The rears could not be much easier to install BTW.
