What height are you guys running your Viking DA Coilovers
Hello all,
I currently just buttoned up my suspension overhaul on my 2001 Trans, I finally listened to the devil on my should an purchased some Viking coilovers for my front and rear, 400# front 150# rear. I am just wondering about what how far up the shocks threads are you guys running your spring seat collar.
Per the instructions i initially set all four corners at about 1/3 of the way from the bottom. When on the ground it was probably sitting 3" lower in the front and about 1.5-2" lower in the back.
That seemed too low in the front for me to start out on so i raised the front and mover the collar to about 1/2 way up the shock or about 2.5". When lowered again, it appeared that it only lifted the front at most .5".
After a beer or three i was persuaded to call it a day, tomorrow the plan is to readjust the fronts to about 5/8ths-3/4ths the way up the shock and level the rears (they are still about 3/8ths out of level) then to set the driveline angle.
Just wanted to see if you guys could give me a baseline
Thanks everyone
SG

With those spring rates you should have no problem getting the ride height where you want it..Essentially adjust it to where you want it and call it a day, regardless of where everybody else has theirs set at.

I know they can go low lmaooo..
Yesterday I got the fronts about 3/4ths the way up and it still isn't translating too enough of a height change..
I've driven her on the road and all feels great but I'm still too damn low, I still want to raise the front about 3/4", and am gonna fiddle with it after class lets out today and bring it to about 7/8ths the height of the shock and hope that brings me to where I want to be, the *** end is perfect, I just need more clearance for the front, the ypipe is hanging too damn low

One thing im finding annoying is getting them close to perfect......im looking for right around 3/4" lower on my camaro. Imo, the wheel is perfect in the wheel wells on stock 17s. Ive adjusted multiple times and im finally getting close.....sometimes after a drive i measure and get 26 7/8 to the wheel well.....then drive again remeasure and get my desired 27...... So i guess they just vary and dont always settle after certain bumps. Maybe after more miles they will become more consistent. I have 350-150s.

I have noticed that too, I didn't know if it was just my inexperience or if something in my chassis was tweeked but every time I have adjusted them, lowered the car, bounce the corners and measured them to be level, after I return from test driving it always seems to settle in unevenly
my final height of spring was about 13/16ths up the shock before I sent it to the suspension shop to be aligned, I got both the front and the rear level to about a quarter inch left and right
Reguardless on those test drives she would squat real nice on launches , even with the recommended starting settings, cornering dynamic was completely changed, even with the front out of alignment you could feel that she actually had controllable brake in cornering, I can't wait to get it back from alignment tonight and raise some hell
