Default Mushy brake pedal

Just had a set of Power Slot rotors, polished calipers, braided steel brake lines and Hawks pads put on my 99 Firehawk. Looks great but now I have to press the brake pedal almost to the floor to get the brakes to work. The lines were bled and the shop that did the work said the brakes need to seat completely and then the pedal will be back to normal. Doesn't sound right. Any ideas? Please let me know. Thanks.

Thanks Ram Air. Sounds reasonable. Any other opinions?

I think you need to bleed them too - and make sure the brake fluid is at the proper level. With fresh pads it should be right at the mark on the resivior.

I don't buy that line about the brakes seating to bring back a firm pedal. This system was not properly bled. Sometimes you have to run quite a bit of fluid through there if a bubble gets trapped somewhere, and they may not have wanted to spend the time necessary to do it.

I'm w/ this guy 100% What's it supposed to mean that they need to seat before your brake petal feels normal? Your symptom is CLASSIC for needing to bleed the system. GL, and cool breaks.
