Default fixed a squeak, got a new one...

Just swapped rear pads to get rid of a squeak. The old ones were only about 75% down, but the squeak came from the 'pad abutment clip', it's the clip that sticks to the bracket on either end of the pad. When these get old, they come loose and sometimes rub the rotor. It makes a really annoying, high pitched squeaking sound. New clips came with the pads, OK, that problem went away.

Now I have a light screeching coming from the brakes when I first touch down the pedal, it goes away with a little more pressure. I used Raybestos Quiet stop pads, anti squeak goop, and reused the shims from the old pads. I only have a few miles on the new pads, but they shouldn't squeak at all when they're new right? Any advice would help...

Default

A little break-in time to allow the pad to seat to the disk will probably take care of it. If it doesn't have the rotors turned.
