Default rear suspension problem i think

My car makes a clunking noise in the right rear when i shift hard and the rear end jerks to the right a little during the shift. when i was leaving the track tonight, i stopped and was washing the rubber off the rear wheels wells and noticed that my right rear of the car appears to sit about 1-2" lower then the left. and no it wasnt a low tire or anything. the tire is actually closer to the car. and the right rear also sits in about 1-2" more then the left. what could cause the rear end to get all out of whack like that? i think whatever is clunking during my shifts might be causing the rear to be out of line like that.
