Opinions on BMR stuff
Planning on doing a some bolt on suspension mods soon. I've been looking at gettin all BMR stuff. LCAs, STB, SFCs, and panhard bar is what I have planned so far. Is BMR products pretty good? Any other mods I should look into? Thx

I think for the money it be hard to beat BMR products, the only thing that I'm not in favor of are weld-on SFC. I know a lot guys say the weld on SFC are the way to go but I think either Spectacle Soulutions or SLP bolt-on SFC are the way to go. Just my two cents worth.

IMO, BMR builds high quality parts at a very good price, however, a couple of their designs are a bit suspect. If it were me I'd avoid their weld-in relocation brackets and poly/poly LCA's (that goes for any brand of poly/poly LCA BTW). I'm happy with their swaybars, STB, PHR, and bolt-in relocation brackets. Also heard good things about their K-member and front control arms.

Thats the response I was hoping to get. Is there any performance difference b/t boxed and tubular LCAs? A friend told me his 60' times were better after he boxed his LCAs.

Re: Opinions on BMR stuff
I am very happy with my BMR products. My car is a daily street car and it just needed to be stiffer all round. And now it is. Launching is fantastc and roll has gone
The box LCA are good for fast launches.
To add to the debate on welding or bolting SFC's or LCA relocation brackets - I went for the weld in and made sure the job was done PROPERLEY. I have also heard of bolt on's coming loose.

Re: Opinions on BMR stuff
My experience with BMR parts is that for simple stuff (SFC's, STB, etc...), they are fine. But, as others have mentioned, Brett's designs on some pieces can kinda make ya wonder... for instance, the poly/poly LCA's are just a bad idea (poly/poly LCA's bind, and in the case of the adjustable BMR's, that binding loosens the jam nuts). I used to have one of his torque arms on the car, but have since switched to the LG arm.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to badmouth BMR stuff at all; I am only suggesting that before purchasing a particular part, you do your research and determine whether or not the BMR part allows for what you are wanting to do (this goes not just for BMR, but ALL parts manufacturers).
On a side note, I am a firm believer in weld-in SFC's. I have seen the bolt-in type loosen up over time, and enlarge the bolt holes.
Just my $.02...

Here is what some folks have experienced with BMR parts ...
https://ls1tech.com/ubb/cgi-bin/ulti...;f=25;t=001216
BMR makes parts from quality material and yield quality built parts. But that doesn't mean they work well.
I bought a lot of suspension parts based upon price, thinking they would function. Not the case. Consequently, I wasted a lot of money in searching for handling.
Be careful ... sometimes the lowest price isn't best value.

Virtually no one I've heard from has had a problem with them. I am getting SLP bolt ons, I think they are the best for a guy who doesn't want anyone else touching my car. Years ago, a muffler shop caught my car on fire when they welded in a new exhaust on my '79 Z28. Ain't gonna happen with this car

I have every BMR part available except for the LCA relocation brackets and including the Xtreme duty torque arm. I couldn't be happier. I drove over a 5 inch median at 70 miles an hour and the reason the car wasn't totalled was because of the engine bay brace and the WELD IN SUB FRAMES. You don't want bolt-ons.

Re: Opinions on BMR stuff
Only complaint I have about BMR is, I ordered a blue Strut bar, and it was purple. Needless to say, I sanded it down and put a clear coat on it and it looks chrome

Re: Opinions on BMR stuff
Just the fact that so many people report mounting hole elongation with bolt on sfc's shows just how much the chassis is still flexing with these installed. They start off tight all the time but the twist is still enough to either loosen them or stretch the hole. Not much leverage so there must still be a lot of force. It's Impossible to eliminate the flex,[look at a formula 1 chassis, still moves]but a weld in is designed to flex without loosening and the shorter the attachment points the less intrusive it needs to be. A 2 point spans a few feet, lots of leverage, has to be massive to have even a little effect.Something attached to the pinch welds part way down spans only a few inches, doesn't have to be as massive. Not much leverage.Doesn't mean the bolt ons are not good enough for the cost though.

Re: Opinions on BMR stuff
I did alot of research before ordering suspension parts and am very pleased with all the BMR products I have installed on the bird...STB, APHR, boxed LCAs, Adjustable TA I originally had the BMR relocation brackets, but had to upgrade to Spohn when I got the 12 bolt
I also have Kenny Brown DD SFCs Welded
