Default I have LT1 brakes... what can I do?

I have a 2000 Z28 that I bought last year. apparently, somewhere in it's lifetime, the brakes were swapped out and some douche put LT1 brakes on the car. I think the entire spindle on the front was swapped. What can I do to upgrade on a budget? I've called a few junk yards to see how much it would be for all four sides, spindles, calipers, rotors and they want over $800 for a 98-02 setup. This annoys the **** out of me everytime I think about it. Any help would be greatly appreciated....
