Default abs module???

I have a quick question, my Secratery (sp) has a 2001 silverado z71 and the brakes are stoping themselves. I'm 99% sure its the abs module going bad. To replace these all you have to do is swap them correct? she has a repair shop that is telling her it is goin to be $1000 because they have to reprogram it. Anyone know anything about this?

Default

A new module costs a fortune. But you can buy a used one for very cheap. For swapping procedure, after the swap you have to bleed it. Bleeding is going to require a programmer to do it. But someone said you can do it manually, at least on the f-body. I'm not sure if that is the same for the Silverado because the module may be different.

As far as bleeding the abs module on the f-body goes, I would like to know the exact step how to do it manually if any body can chime in.
