Default New struts no there's a funny noise...

So i decided to change my front shocks on this fine christmas afternoon, and now after the install there is a relatively loud clunking noise that can be felt through the floor boards whenever i hit bumps. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Did i forget to tighten something enough? It can be felt on the passenger and driver side.

thanks

where did you put the washer, and did you tighten the nut all the way? i put the washer in the wrong spot once and made a clunking noise on every bump. i suggest taking it out and apart and checking that, and tighten it down all the way

I had the same problem after a shock install. I had to compress the springs again to get the nut tight enough to stop the noise.

^I tightened the nut as far as it would go, put it back together. And it still makes the noise but its not nearly as loud. Like if i had the radio on you wouldn't be able to hear it....I prolly didn't help that i cut a coil off when i first did the swap.

make sure your spring is sitting in the perch right. check clearance.
sounds like its hitting (rubbing) the body somewhere.

you probably cut too much off the spring and now there is play when you hit a bump.

If you interested I have some like new front coilovers for sale. It replaces the entire factory spring and strut assembly.
