Konis

BMRs arn't that much of a drop so you might be able to get away with Bilsteins but they're all out of stock. KYB AGXs are another option that might work. Sam has been pushing KYBs to alot of people in your same position who for whatever reason refuse to consider Konis. The problem is they adjust both bound and rebound at the same time which is not ideal, and they're build quality isn't the best.

But given the options at least the AGX's give you some ability to adjust the damping to suit the need, and have enough rebound to control the springs. I've even started stocking a few sets. Unfortunately with Bilstein's inability to get shocks here so I can get back to doing Revalves, there is a pretty big gap out there under the Koni's. At this time I feel that given the pricing and damping the AGX's fill it best (and I hate that), but that's the way it is.

Konis = The shiznit

They aren't cheap, but look at it this way: you get a lifetime warranty if you buy them new, so they'll be the last shocks you'll buy for the car as long as you own it.

Koni's... I didnt know that there were other brands of shocks out there besides Koni... LOL!

I have Konis on my car and they are bad ***... Best shocks on the market for an all around car, hands down. Now if your going nuts on the suspension and setting up a track only car, I would suggest Penske remote reseviors... Other than that though, Konis fit just about every bill I can imagine.

I see this a lot about the Penske's.... And they are works of art. However, they do not build off the shelf shocks for our cars. Shocks can be built, but the valving is up to the builder personal tastes or knowledge.

I have a lot of experience with them (on both Corvette's and 4th gens). Without getting into too much detail:

A guy I used to run with in F-stock years ago dumped his Koni's for Penske's. He went from being on my "need to beat" list, to winning 1 event over the next two years. I've done 3 different Corvettes, with 3 different types and valving of Penske's. Two sets were sold and replaced with Koni's (and went faster), the other we revalved the Penske's to what pretty much comes in Koni's, and the result was a rocket to the top of Super Stock in 2006 for that car. BTW all of the examples listed above are folks who also have SCCA National Championships as well.

Oh... and I've beaten cars with $3000 sets of shocks heads-up with my Koni's (which aren't even revalved). Again, those cars driven by other and multi-time National Champions as well. Not a matter of my just being a lot better driver, because I'm sure the driving is on par.

A reminder... I have AGX's in stock too. We can discuss both.

Are you looking for an adjustable shock or non adjustable? do you even have the need for an adjustable shock or just looking for good ride quality?

What kind of price should I expect for Konis w/shocks? Same for the Blisteins. My current shocks have 110k miles on them (been on since the car was bought new) and the ride quality is horrific. I need new suspension!
