Default Where?

Do I make a complaint if I think I got ripped off at a gas pump? I put almost 16 gallons in the 94 Bird last night and I have never put more than 15, and that's if the needle was below empty. I had about 1/8 of a tank left when I filled up.

i'm pretty sure that gas pumps are regulated by the TX Dept of Agriculture. they do have a system to file complaints/inquiries, but good luck getting them to give a ****

Thanks. It's a shaddy store anyway. The only reason I stopped there is b/c it was on the way home. I had also won a couple of bucks on the scratch offs from there.

I actually got an email back about 5 hours after I sent it.

Here is what it said:

Thank you for contacting the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) , your concerns are very important to us.

I will need the following information before I can forward your complaint:

* The pump number you are referring to (#1, #2, etc.) or its location at the gas station.

* Grade of fuel you purchased (regular unleaded, mid-grade, premium, diesel).
Once I receive the information your complaint will be forwarded to our regional office for action. If the information is unavailable I will still forward your complaint to the regional office for assignment. They will assign an inspector to investigate; and when their inspection is complete, they will contact you with the findings.

Wow, good to know they actually care. I had the same thing happen in my Vette one time but didn't know if it was worth complaining about.
