Job Requirements This is an ESCG CBA (Union) position with Jacobs Technology. Requires a high school degree or its equivalent and normally possesses 12 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Proficient with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Requires knowledge of welding equipment and must demonstrate proficiency by satisfactorily passing welder certification tests given by JSC and the ASME for work on pressure vessels. Experience with GMAW Aluminum preferred. Must meet eligibility requirements to receive and maintain a DoD security clearance.

Job Responsibilities The main duties of this position will be to perform various duties in the operation of a variety of welding equipment including gas tungsten-arc, oxy-acetylene, shielded metal arc, and brazing. Welds test fixtures, piping systems, and pressure vessels. Performs repair and/or modification of test articles and other related equipment. Works from detailed drawings, sketches, assembly blueprints, oral instructions, etc., when required. Welds stainless steel, aluminum, carbon steel and other materials using techniques to make welds which are structurally sound, yet can be cleaned to prevent fluid contamination. Welds delicate instrumentation to test articles, i.e. thermocouples welded to rocket motors. Operations basic shop equipment, including drill press, band saw, grinder and shears. Performs preventative maintenance on welding shop equipment. Performs work and maintains work area in a neat, orderly, and safe manner. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Performs highly skilled work at the advanced level. Man instruct, lead and direct the work of others. Performs related duties as required
