I'm shopping around for an engine for a project. I want to do business with a good guy that won't screw me over.

LKQ. They have different classes of quality and are a large corporation with plenty of spares around so if something isn't right they will stand behind it. They also already have all the parts pulled and ready.

LKQ tagged my motor with false information, saying my motor only had 88k miles, when I ran the VIN it came back last known mileage of 276k miles. big differance, but its just money right????

Interesting, they usually don't do stuff like that. But that sucks.

When I got my camaro the odometer said 137k and the VIN report said it had 280k. That was 5 years ago, it still doesn't look like it even has 50k. So they could have lied or the VIN report could be wrong. My VIN report was definitely wrong because I looked up history and everything had followed in line then it had a ~150k mile jump in about a year's time.
