Default Intermittent noise 2002 camaro ls1

Hi folks, recently purchased a 2002 camaro ss 6 speed, 71000 miles. I've had the oil leaks fixed and the axel bearings replaced. I now have an intermittent noise from what seem's like the engine compartment. It sounds like the noise made when you would attach something such as a card, to your bicycle wheel, with it engaging the spokes as the wheel turns. It's intermittent going down the highway, and I haven't been able to find it yet, as it will be stopped by the time I can pull over. I would appreciate any ideas on this matter. Thanks. Van

you could have an electric fan going bad hence the intermittence? Try to spin them by hand. Should spin freely wih no clicks.

I will take a look at that. Since I posted, I changed out air pump with a new unit. Took it for a long drive and noise finally started up when I was almost back home. I pulled over real quick and was able to get the hood up and hear it with the hood open. Sounds like its coming from the eingine, but I can't tell exactly where. I drove on the half mile home, and it's already quit time I pulled in the garage.

Hows oil pressure? May jack it up and look at front of a/c condenser to see if it sucked up a paper or plastic bag against the condenser going down road. If the a/c works could just be a noisy compressor as well.

So it makes the noise without having to be driven?

I would check the A/C compressor, fans, and the idler and drive belt tensioner.

Oil pressure is 40psi cold, and just above 20 after warmed up, at curb idle. Oil needle bobbles occassionally, but hardly enough to see. It seems I have to take it down the road about 8 or 10 miles before it will do it, and then it will go away sooner or later. AC works fine. I will run it up on the ramps and look under there as advised. Thanks for everyones input. Van
