When I replaced the socket a long time ago, I recklessly cut the wires without matching them up properly. It seems that I have two wires reversed. Here's the situation:

Lights off: DS bright, PS dim
Fog lights on: DS bright, PS bright
Lights on: DS dim, PS bright

I assume that both lights should be brighter at night when the lights are switched to on and dimmed during the day. For the DS, what two wires do I need to swap?

Did the problem just recently begin? Or have you had this problem since swapping the sockets?

Also, I believe that the DRLs are brighter with no lights on.

You should have a blue or purple wire depending on side of the car, a brown wire, and a black ground. The blue and purple are power I think, and the brown is the blinker function. You probably have the brown and blue/ purple wire switched. Iirc.

It had been acting funny since I swapped the socket. However, I didn't know how until I experimented with it yesterday. I had to replace the bulb because the light would only sometimes come on.

Yeah, that makes more since. They should be brighter during the daytime for the blinker function.
