Cracked head (SBC - L31) Tore apart a 5.7 Vortec in a '97 Suburban with 200k to find this:
Pulled the PS head to find this:
O'Reilly has remanufactured heads in stock. But they're the same price as buying a new head from an online vendor (SDPC, summit, jegs, etc). Anyone have experience with remanu heads? If I have to order and wait for shipping, this probably won't get put back together for a month or two.

Yeah, was just hoping to get it completed this week. I decided not to go for the reman one. Gotta pull the other head and go from there. Maybe new motor if it's fubar'ed too.

Pulling my LS1 w/135,000 on it next week, had a lifter roll on it and take out the cam. Heads and block are still good,did a leak down test on it and it's still plenty strong. I'm putting a LS6 in so this is available, it's at Frank's Vettes off of Louetta right now. L8R DFLASH
