Magnacharged C6 Vette Track Results
I finally made a visit to HRP tonight to try out the new setup on the 2005 Corvette, consisting of a Magnacharger at 5 psi boost, 230/230 114 cam, and LG longtube headers with a Magnaflow catback. The car is a Z51 coupe, 6-speed manual. Raceweight was 3500 lbs even, temps 88F outside. The car was on 17" drag radials. Granny shifting to keep the rearend in one piece.
Best ET was 11.37 @ 126.7 with a 1.84 60'
Best MPH was 11.47 @ 129.5 with a 1.95 70'
The higher MPH pass was done after letting the car cool down for an hour. The best ET pass was just a better launch. Too bad I couldn't get the combo on the same pass. The car ran 103 mph in the 1/8-mile on the 11.47 pass. Ran two more hot laps and didn't improve any.
I didn't manage to escape the track without breaking something though. Put a nice hairline crack about 6 inches long on the back of my differential housing, causing some pretty bad oil leakage. I managed to drive the car home 25 miles though, and will diagnose any further damage tomorrow. Hopefully its just the housing and nothing else.
But hey, thats racing! Had a great time anyways. I raced lil' brother Powell's FRC coupe with his new 427ci and it was a good race. Door to door until the 1/8 mile then he put a car length on me. I think he went 11.0 to my 11.3 on that run. We got a vid of that one, link coming soon.

Great runs Tony. You did much better than my street tire, shot tranny, POS car. Thanks for the differential fluid bath on the way home. Its cool though I didn't want to see your car gush any fluid. BTW it was great meeting some of you Houston peeps tonight. Powell's last run was a quick one and that was from a soft launch. I can't wait to seem him run with a stout rearend.

NO SH*T!!! You guys like to run em hard. Not to say there aren't some quick cars in DFW, but you do bust 'em. LOL. Actually I pulled into a carwash off the Beltway and 59 to rinse my car off. Its not spotless, but at least no more differential fluid all over my hood and windshield. I hope that crack isn't too bad.

I had a great time, great seeing everyone. Tony sorry to hear about the rear end housing, I thought we both got away free from damage. I am scared to look under mine! Hope you get it fixed soon and upgrade the shaft to so you can really lauch that beast!

I'll be making a few calls tomorrow. Can't have this glass jaw rearend crap, thats no fun! Hard to believe I broke it with weak 1.8 60' times and not even powershifting.
I went 11.20s in my blue Formula before busting the stock rearend(s). Dang Corvette rearends suck
