Austin area track question?
I Must of been living with my head in the sand latley...but I have been back home for three years now and I haven't taken my SS to the track. I know there is one in SA, but any around the Austin area? Where do we go?

The closetst track are SAR outside of San Antonio, and Temple Academy Raceway (formally Temple Academy Dragway) outside of Temple.
If you are going to TAD the most activity is Friday nights, but will have poor track conditions, Sat afternoons will have excellent traction and fewer "street" cars running.

I agree SAR is better, but TAD is not that bad.
SAR is a newer, larger facility. They have fairly consistent track prep.
TAD is an older track with alot of character, but for good prep you have to know when to go. For Friday night test and tune they do little or no prep due to the large number of street tire cars and lack of slick tire cars.
I have made hundreds of passes at each place, and 60' within .05 at both places.
Best 60" at SAR 1.49, TAD 1.52.
